90m OCEANCO - SUNNY MEMORIES

I started conceiving Sunny Memories in my mind... with my eyes closed; I envisioned wavy yet neat curves and shapes. Her lines are inspired by the 'Belle Epoque' period. Art Nouveau emerged from this period, which was characterized by optimism, regional peace, economic prosperity and technological, scientific and cultural innovations. This unique and largely decorative art movement distinguished by its curvilinear forms and nature- inspired motifs, is what I wanted to sketch: elegant and sleek timeless exterior lines with classic and modern detailing. And still with my eyes closed, the dancing lines progressed into a beautiful superyacht design.

My concept design is and based on utilizing the proven Oceanco hull platform. Despite Sunny Memories' generous dimensions, her lines have been drawn to express a visual sense of forward movement and speed. The large amidships area with darkened glazing cut out of the white superstructure creates an airy and in-motion effect. The interplay of empty and filled spaces optimizes the large forward inclined-often-full-height-windows, thus reducing the visual impact of the significant volumes. The design aesthetic of the stern area is low and sleek and includes a beach area developed around a swimming pool on the aft main deck - again, this design was inspired by the Belle Epoque period, emulating the building facades at the end of the 19th Century in Paris and New York.

The six double guest staterooms are located on main deck, with access to a vast dining room and lounge/disco salon that opens up on the pool deck with direct access to the sea. The upper deck is the Owner's domain, hosting a private whirlpool on its foredeck, with panoramic views. The master suite is equipped with his- and- hers facilities, a private bar and large-screen TV room. The Owner's deck is visually linked to the deck above that hosts the owner's office, a gym and a massage room, by a large window arch amidships that not only adds an imposing graphic effect but also tricks the eye into believing that two deck levels are in fact one. Furthermore, the arched window provides the Owner's spacious TV room and office with abundant natural light. Stunning lines, striking volumes, and La Belle Epoque curves characterise this new Oceanco concept.

She will, no doubt, make heads turn wherever she cruises.
