FLYING APARTMENT SYSTEM FOR YEAR 2060

Keywords: morphing, transform, interior, advanced human, navigation and sustainability

This is a collaboration with Michael Robinson, Design Director of Fiat-Lancia. Together we challenged ideas about open spaces in 50-60 years in advance. However, Imagine to travel with your apartment between continents in 15-20 minutes. New York – Shanghai in 20 minutes. London – Dubai 27 minutes. This is possible by flying at high height and using exterior morphing for enhanced performance standard witch dramatically change the air vehicle appearance. By using nano-technology you control the elastic surface by micro sensor that is integrated in the material. This project is focused how to dramatically change your interior based on scenario of morphing interior through computer software.

CONSIDERATION

We believe technology goes more human. We are still going to be human beings year 2060 - but how can we make technology more human, sensual, empathic and emotional? In the future material going to communicate humanity.

SCENARIO: LONDON 2060

The urbanization going to increase, therefore can we expect a crowded London. Heavy pollution and destroyed environment lead to concentration of creation of new open spaces. So, what's the solution? We believe there is an opportunity of emotional and clean world where new cities floating above us, in the atmosphere. So, here we are in a new created world with new needs of transportation opportunities between continents.

FAST TRANSFORMATION WITH MORPHING TECHNOLOGY

Today there is ongoing development to integrate morphing technology in the wings in order to stabilize aircrafts. A morphing aircraft structure needs to be able to change its shape like a bird and be lightweight. Understandning how birds perform by making their wings morph, or change shape in flight can dramatically increase the efficiency and manowerability of the aircraft.

CONCLUSION

This project got mentally new dimensions that can be applicable for different segments of transportations, as the aircraft, car or yachting industry. We believe there is need of more emotional technology since we are surrounded with all kind of technology today. Would be interesting to apply this concept to other scenarios as well.
